Sylvia Tazberik

Soprano Sylvia Tazberik was born in Slovakia and grew up in Berlin.
After school she first did some ordinary training to be a sales person for foreign trade. But instead of really improving her shorthand and calculating she rather organized cultural events for her company. Sylvia eventually studied singing at the conservatoires in Dresden and Berlin with Peter Herrmann and she attended master classes with Elio Battaglia, Ute Trekel-Burckhardt, Eberhard Büchner, Harry Kupfer, Norma Sharp and Eric Menzel.
Her voice, which she keeps in shape with green tea and a mysterious mixture of cereals, has led her to many different places of the world: to grand stages, in museums, churches, palaces, hospitals, assembly halls and even onto heaving vessels or living roofs. With such variety of tasks she had no chance but to develop a wide repertoire. Among her specialties are pieces from great operas and operettas, the Italian Belcanto, medieval music by Hildegard von Bingen, Lieder and arias from the baroque, classical and romantic periods, love songs of diverse backgrounds and international Christmas pieces.
Since her additional graduation in theatre pedagogy she has organized theatre workshops and has guided a lot of those who cannot help acting.
